Climate change is one of our biggest challenges. To solve it successfully, we all have to do our part. In Sandviken, the business community, the world of research and the public sector are collaborating to create sustainable alternatives to both private and heavy transport.
Thanks to the unique collaboration between Sandviken’s local council, Sandvik and AGA Gas, we are opening the first hydrogen refuelling station in Sweden, right here in Sandviken. We look forward to welcoming private individuals, busses and lorries in the near future.
Another exciting collaboration between the business community, the public sector and academia is the test road for the electric highway right outside of Sandviken – the first in the world. Region Gävleborg is leading the project and will examine whether it’s financially viable to run fossil fuel free lorry traffic from Avesta via Borlänge, all the way to the Port of Gävle.
Naturally, you can charge your electric car at many locations here in Sandviken. Together with Sandviken Energi we are building new charging stations in the area.
Through collaboration, strong innovation and a clear vision for sustainable development, we are creating tomorrow’s transport solutions, together. When wise people from all over the world in industry, academia and the public sector interacts exciting things will happen. Sandviken is such a place in the field of fossil-free and climate-neutral energy. Here we create, together, innovation power.
